Painopojat manufactures metal parts by deep drawing and eccentric pressing. We use deep drawing both as a standalone process and in combination with metal spinning, selecting a suitable method for each manufacturing stage.
What is deep drawing?
Deep drawing forms a flat sheet blank into a cup or shell-like part using a punch and die. The number of drawing stages depends on the material and the target geometry.
The process suits repeat production of identical parts. Tooling investment is considered in relation to production volume and product lifetime.
Combining deep drawing and metal spinning
A part does not have to be formed with just one process. Combining deep drawing and metal spinning allows forming to be divided into suitable stages. We assess the options from the drawing, material and batch size.
Our deep drawing presses have capacities of 75–200 tonnes.
Eccentric pressing for series production
Our 30–100 tonne eccentric presses perform tool-defined cutting and forming operations. Progressive dies and strip feeders enable efficient repeated operations, including larger production runs.
